Sports - do you like to play or watch?

I enjoy playing sport in particular squash, badminton. Though over the years have tried my hand at many different sports… cricket, tennis, golf, softball to name a few.

I have never been a baseball fan until coming to Japan. The first game I watched at Yahoo Dome (as it was called then) was a Grand Final game. Although the game itself was exciting, what really drew me in was the crowd. Their enthusiastic cheering, wearing jerseys with their favourite players’ names… and the balloons!

私はスポーツをするのが好きで、特にスカッシュやバドミントンが好きです。しかし、長年にわたり、クリケット、テニス、ゴルフ、ソフトボールなど、さまざまなスポーツに挑戦してきました。

日本に来るまで、私は野球ファンではありませんでした。ヤフードー​​ム（当時はそう呼ばれていました）で初めて観戦した試合は、グランドファイナルでした。試合自体もエキサイティングでしたが、本当に私を惹きつけたのは観客でした。熱狂的な応援、お気に入りの選手の名前が入ったジャージを着ている観客、そして風船！

If I can’t play then I prefer to watch sport live and enjoy not only the game but the atmosphere…
